| Die Cochrane Collaboration ist ein internationales Netzwerk von Wissenschaftlern und Ärzten, das sich an den Grundsätzen der evidenzbasierten Medizin orientiert. Das zentrale Ziel ist die Verbesserung der wissenschaftlichen Grundlagen für Entscheidungen im Gesundheitssystem. Dieses Ziel wird vor allem durch die Erstellung, Aktualisierung und Verbreitung systematischer Übersichtsarbeiten ("systematic reviews") zur Bewertung von Therapien erreicht. Als Basis gelten alle zur Verfügung stehenden Daten aus kontrollierten klinischen Studien zu einer Fragestellung, damit ein objektives Bild zu einer Therapie gezeichnet werden kann. Die systematischen Übersichtsarbeiten werden in der in der Cochrane Library veröffentlicht. |
